These pages introduce some aspects of the natural philosophy of harmony and of temperament and tuning theory.

Whilst these pages include elements of acoustics and mathematics, they are not merely for the sake of acoustics or mathematics in isolation - they are not intended to be a compartmentalized academic resource, out of the context of everything else. To this end, these pages are intended to bring areas of knowledge together, rather than keeping them separate, and out of each other's context. 

The pages assume a working knowledge of music theory (Western music) but are not intended to exclude anyone. For an introduction to musical intervals see here.

There may be some material that will only be of interest to those with special academic interest in the subject.
