What is concert pitch?
This is an agreed international standard for musical pitch. The A above middle C is set to 440 Hz (cycles per second), hence it is often called 'A440' pitch. Fixed pitch modern musical instruments like trumpets, flutes, electronic keyboards etc. are built to this standard.
Some orchestras now use higher pitches, and lower pitches are often used for baroque music.
