about

What can I clean the keys with?

Use just a damp (not wet) cloth, but if this is not sufficient try a little lemon juice. For worse cases ask your piano tuner for some key cleaning fluid.

Do not use household or kitchen cleaners with chemicals and abrasive powders.

The white keys may be:

Ivory

Pyrolin

Thermoplastic

Cellulose

Imitation ivory

Imitation ivory is grained (like wood), like cheaper ivory. Real ivory of the best quality does not have readily visible graining.

The raised keys may be:

Ebony

Ebonised wood

Plastic

Bakelite

Other material

Take care not to splash liquid between the keys.
